Dr. Anna Lembke Addresses Opioid Epidemic at San Francisco Conference

August 17, 2017

The opioid epidemic – it’s one of the biggest public health challenges our nation has ever faced. According to the CDC, 91 Americans die every day from opioid overdose. Opioid-related hospital stays and emergency room visits have risen sharply while commercial insurers and Medicaid, alike, are overburdened with the costs associated with opioid abuse treatment.

Anna Lembke, MD, Chief of the Stanford University Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis Clinic, will be joining us at the Estes Park San Francisco conference this fall to share her insight into the cause and effect of the opioid epidemic in America. Dr. Lembke is the author of Drug Dealer, MD: How Doctors Were Duped, Patients Got Hooked, and Why It’s So Hard to Stop, an in-depth exploration of the prescription drug epidemic.

A practicing psychiatrist, professor, and researcher, Dr. Lembke’s focus is on treating patients who have become addicted to prescription drugs using a holistic, harm-reduction approach to each patient.

Reserve your space now and explore this hot-button issue with Dr. Lembke and health care leaders from across the nation.
