Estes Park Institute Encourages Physician Leaders to Join Us at Phoenix Conference

December 18, 2017

The Estes Park Institute encourages physician leaders to join us at our Phoenix conference, March 18-21, 2018 for a dynamic education experience.  Guest presenter Stephen Swensen, MD will present “Esprit De Corps—Taking Care Of Each Other For Our Patients,” providing an organizational framework designed for leaders to nurture esprit de corps and reduce professional burnout.

In addition, our team teaching model brings the most knowledgeable experts together to explore today’s health care from every angle:

Della Lin, MD and Dr. Swensen explore the necessity of effective physician leadership to ensure the best patient experience and outcomes and optimal organizational performance.

Linda Haddad, JD's workshop, "Dealing with the Problem Physician," provides strategies for dealing with the problem physician and creating the best chance for success.  During the "Attracting and Developing Physician Leadership" breakout, she and Gary Kaplan, MD    discuss identifying physician leadership candidates and creating roles and challenges for their growth in expertise and confidence.

She and Dr. Pinevich will also present “Fundamentals for New Physician Leaders,” a comprehensive overview designed to prepare new leaders for what lies ahead or provide a refresher course for any leader. And Dr. Pinevich will moderate an invitational physician leader roundtable.

Leanne Kaiser Carlson joins Linda Haddad for a breakout that provides a guide for not only accomplishing the medical staff’s stated objectives but also creating an organization that matters to its members by promoting personal growth as well as professional engagement and competency.

In their breakout, “Bedside to the Boardroom:  Experiencing a Culture of Safety,” Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Lin outline the behaviors, expectations, relationships, and tactics that are critical to truly living a culture of safety.

Barry Bittman, MD explores physician practice redesign and reviews the factors that help achieve Triple Aim objectives:  improving patient outcomes and care experiences, as well as prevention of unnecessary costs.

An Estes Park Institute conference is not only designed to address the specific needs of physician leaders.  We offer focused sessions for board members and health care executives as well.  Our general sessions bring your whole team together to hear critical issues that are important to all health care leaders.  Attending a conference together is an invaluable tool for making real change possible at your hospital.
