LEANNE KAISER CARLSON, MSHA
On the Innovation Path Dr. Barry Bittman and I invited remarkable innovators to join our conversation—people doing things years ahead of their peers. It was like seeing the future now! All our presenters were special guest faculty for this conference and new to Estes Park Institute. Each one began with a 20-minute description of an innovation. Then we talked together about this for 40 minutes. It was a lively and refreshing change of style. We looked at new care models and new technologies—including the world’s first virtual care center. The health systems launching these new care models are among highest performing systems on clinical, financial, and satisfaction measures anywhere in the country. So we had a dynamic conversation about how these innovations fit into risk models and other trends.
